For those of you that want to raise up your own baby, we do offer weanlings
and young horses.  Our youngsters are interacted with every day but no
serious training is done until they are weaned.

We believe in the philosophy of letting babies be babies and developing their
horse-sense from the best teachers available, their herd mates.  Most of our
babies love scratches and rubs from us during our daily interactions.  Every
once in a while, we will ask for a foot or a bit of following.

During weaning, babies are weaned in pairs or better.  Most anxiety only lasts
a day.  Weanlings are then taught the basics of ground manners-- haltering,
leading, loading, foot handling.  Once the lessons are progressing well and
the weanling understands what is asked of him/her, then they are allowed to
be horses again.

Kept with herd mates, they learn social order and pressure/release and
reading of body language.    They are allowed to play and just be horses.  We
continue interaction with them, but don't push for major training until their
minds develop and their ligaments/bones can handle moderate natural
horsemanship round pen work and ponying.

This program develops a horse that is mentally capable of solid work with a
body that is sound and healthy.
